South West Trains: Putney Station Update November 2014

South West Trains - Putney - Access for all

Following further technical issues which are being worked on, we are hopeful the lifts at the station will enter service during early November.

Automatic Ticket Gates were due to be relocated by the end of September however this was also delayed due to a number of technical and operational issues. We expect the move of the gateline to be completed by the end of November.

Since the last update, our engineers have been working behind the scenes in order to have the lifts open for your use.
During the testing phase a number of small errors were encountered that have added a few weeks to our plan to open them during October. With these issues being
worked on now, we are expecting to be able to open the lifts during the early part of November.

The gateline relocation work is still planned to start during November.
With a three week delivery time, we hope to have the gates back in operation in their new home around the end of the month.

We hope that you are already noticing the benefit of the newly installed wayfinder signage.
Information screens for the concourse are being installed now.

What’s next

  • A “meet the project team” event - your chance to ask project staff about this and future projects at Putney. This will take place at the station before Christmas. Date to be confirmed soon.
  • Installation of a new station power supply.
  • Improved access ramp to the front of the station.
  • Design for the next phase of work to the booking hall and concourse near to completion.
