Severe delays sparked by trespasser on tracks at Clapham Junction station

A trespasser on the tracks at Clapham Junction station sparked major delays in this morning's rush-hour.

A woman is believed to have strayed onto tracks, sparking disruption which is expected to continue to at least 11am.

A statement from South West Trains said the incident has been dealt with, but passengers can still expect delays of up to 30 minutes.

Clapham Junction station is the busiest National Rail station for interchanges between services and delays have affected passengers travelling as far as Surrey.

South West trains services travelling to central London from Epsom, Guildford, Sutton, Wimbledon, Kingston and Richmond have all been affected.

National Rail said passengers could use their tickets on other routes and bus services.
